More Details About the Medicine

Panadol Ultra Tablets are a combination pain-relieving medicine manufactured by Haleon Pakistan. Each tablet contains Paracetamol 250 mg and Ibuprofen 125 mg, combining two well-established pain relievers that work through different mechanisms to provide effective relief from mild to moderate pain while also helping reduce fever and inflammation.

Panadol Ultra is commonly recommended for the short-term treatment of headaches, migraines, dental pain, muscular aches, back pain, joint pain, period pain (dysmenorrhea), sprains and strains, sore throat, and fever associated with common illnesses such as colds and influenza. The combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen offers broader pain relief than either medicine alone for certain painful conditions, making it a popular choice for individuals who require stronger over-the-counter pain management.

Paracetamol works by reducing pain signals and lowering body temperature through its action on the central nervous system. Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It reduces pain, inflammation, and fever by blocking the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that contribute to pain and swelling. Together, these two active ingredients provide complementary pain relief while helping patients return to their normal daily activities.

Panadol Ultra should be taken exactly as directed on the product label or as advised by a healthcare professional. It is intended for short-term use and should not be taken for longer than recommended without medical advice. Patients should avoid taking additional medicines containing paracetamol or ibuprofen at the same time unless instructed by a doctor, as doing so may increase the risk of serious side effects.

Like all medicines, Panadol Ultra may cause side effects in some people. Common side effects include stomach discomfort, nausea, indigestion, heartburn, dizziness, and headache. Because it contains ibuprofen, prolonged or excessive use may increase the risk of stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney problems, or cardiovascular complications, particularly in older adults or people with existing medical conditions.

Patients with a history of stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, asthma triggered by NSAIDs, or allergy to ibuprofen, paracetamol, or other NSAIDs should consult a healthcare professional before using this medicine. It should also be used with caution during pregnancy, especially during the third trimester, and during breastfeeding only under medical advice.

If pain persists for more than a few days, fever continues despite treatment, or symptoms worsen, patients should seek medical evaluation to determine the underlying cause rather than continuing self-medication.
